Three great suggestions made it through to the final, from The Body Shop® customers in France, Sweden and the USA. Inspired by everything from childhood memories to daily rituals, their mouth-watering ideas made us want to turn their dreams into reality. Here, they tell us more about the meaning behind their winning scents…
Cécile Verin
A freelance sports journalist, Cécile, 35, lives and works not far from the Eiffel Tower in Paris. "I entered the competition for fun," she says. "I couldn't imagine my concept would be picked. I just described my ideal shower gel and was totally surprised when I found out I was a finalist."
Her prize-winning scent
"It's the scent of freshly prepared, rich, hot expresso. Soft, powerful and lightly musky. Coffee, and the smell of coffee, helps you wake up and awaken your senses, so the aroma sounded ideal for a shower gel you use in the morning to kickstart the day."
Stephie J Wilhelm
Stephie, 25, works in the USA in the finance department of a corporation, while studying for a degree in Business Administration. Stephie loves to "get creative with photography, graphic art, and clothing design". Her beauty philosophy? "True beauty is what you feel about yourself, not how you look to others."
Her prize-winning scent
"I love being able to share favourite past times - it allows everyone the chance to share a little piece of themselves. Spiced Pumpkin smells like the fresh pumpkin pie my Grandma used to make at the start of fall. That warming feeling of creamy pumpkin with a hint of spice brings a smile to your face."
Katarina Westman
Katarina, 44, is an economist and lives in Stockholm. A long-time fan of The Body Shop, Katarina likes the fact that "the company has a social conscience."
Katarina enlisted her 12-year old daughter, Ellen, to help design her prize-winning shower gel.
Her prize-winning scent
"It has dreamy wild strawberries and fresh rhubarb. I was thinking of my childhood summers in the countryside. We would pick wild strawberries and drink rhubarb lemonade in the sun. It was paradise. I wanted a scent to remind me of that."
