Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favourite lotion so far! I'm having an issue with some acne pimples, which are popping up sometimes. I can tell that this lotion really helps to reduce skin oil and dirt and helps to get ride of acne. It did not moisturize my skin at all, but anyways, I liked it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Toner for Blemishes Nice toner for areas with blemishes, or when I've felt my skin was on the brink of a breakout. Cons: contains alcohol so I wouldn't use it on my entire face. I wouldn't use it every day, except to treat areas when an acne or cold-sore seems to be close. I'd say the value is ok if used sparingly. I use this almost like a spot treatment: I apply with a q-tip, not with a big pad. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love it! i love their tea tree oil line, it took me a very long time to find a 3 step routine to help with my acne. I've been using the facial cleanser, toner and lotion for about 3-4 years now and I haven't changed it. i occasionally will use the seaweed cleanser and lotion or vitamin e lotion when winter comes around but i never not have this toner in my cleansing. I LOVE IT

    Answer:
I have oily skin and moderate acne as well. I find that toning is enough because the matte finish does not feel drying. Sometimes for a bit of extra moisture I use a light serum, but otherwise I feel the toner does well on its own!

    Answer:
The Matte finish moisturizer works wonders! I use the entire Tea Tree line, and the matte finish moisturizer is perfect. After applying it, there is no need for makeup to create an airbrushed finish. Hopefully, this helps

    Answer:
Personally, I use the Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Night Lotion after I use the toner, otherwise my face feels a little bit too try. The lotion has a great matte finish to it as well.

    Answer:
I would moisture with a light moisturizer/oil in a moderate amount. I personally use coconut oil or cocoa butter after i use the toner. Even though our skin is oily, we have to balance it with an outside oil. The only reason it's so oily is because the face doesn't have enough oil on the top layer of skin so it's pushing out oil it has stored on the inside. So with the toner, it cleans the dirt along with the surface oil so you need to apply only necessary oil afterwards before your face does.

    Answer:
You should always moisturize your skin, especially after using a toner. Oily skin still needs moisture or else will produce even more oil trying to compensate for not getting enough.

    Answer:
You should moisturize every time you wash your face. It's important to put the moisture back in after getting rid of the oils, otherwise your face will over produce oil to moisturize it for you. So yes, after using the toner, you should use a light moisturizer. The lotion and night cream from this line are excellent.

    Answer:
I would say yes, definitely still moisturize - after - using the toner, as toners tend to dry the skin because they are designed to remove excess oil and any leftover makeup and dirt that was missed during cleansing. Moisture is the most important factor in skincare - regardless of type, oily, combo, dry, etc. It took me forever to get that - as I too suffer with oily skin and it didnt seem logical to add moisture on top of excess oil, but ever since I started religiously moisturizing - after toning my skin has improved IMMENSELY. I've found that the drier my skin is - the more oil it produces, probably to compensate for the lack of moisture. Plus dryness just ages you and causes fine lines and wrinkles way faster than moisturized skin does. Either stick with this whole TeaTree line (I adore all of it) or find an oil-free lotion or gel-based light moisturizer with hylauronic acid..make sure it has the hylauronic thats key in maintaining moist skin without producing any excess oil, but avoid the heavy creams meant for dry skin, those will increase shininess and are just not right for oily skin. Try those few changes and hopefully you'll begin to see a difference in no time, like I did. Good Luck!! ;-))))

    Answer:
The product label doesn't state how often to use it. If it is working for you and not drying out your skin - twice a day might be okay.

    Answer:
I personally enjoy using this product morning and night. I find it helps remove left over make up at night and it helps with clogged pores in the morning. I only rinse my face in the morning so a quick wipe with this toner releases oils and impurities that may have developed over night. I actually see the cotton pad turn a brownish colour! So I think its doing a good job at keeping my skin clean.

    Answer:
Once a day, preferably at the end of the day to take away all the dirt and unwanted oil. You must definitely apply a good moisturizer (like the drops of youth cream/ sleeping mask) after you the toner gets absorbed to get the best results. It's very important that you complete your cleaning routine with this toner every night before you go to bed.

    Answer:
As long as your skin isn't too sensitive, using the product twice a day isn't a problem. If your skin is starting to feel dry or itchy, cut back to once a day.

I have sensitive skin and require a toner without alcohol as all others are too harsh, but also need something that is good for blemishes. Currently looking for a new toner to try and wondering if this would be too hard/irriating or drying on my skin?

It does have a tendency to dry out your skin, however if you do exfoliant regularly and use a night cream every night you should be just fine. I found that helped me.

there is alcohol denat in this product it is the second on the ingredient list. i have sensitive skin as well but i find this toner doesn't cause much problems. you can go into your nearest Body Shop and ask them what their return policy is on open product or ask for a sample but i don't know how well this product would be as a sample.

Thank you for contacting The Body Shop. Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner contains Tapioca Starch Powder which acts as an oil-absorbing, mattifying agent. Shaking the product helps to combine the Tapioca Starch Powder with the other ingredients to activate it before using it.
