Rated 3 out of 5 by too harsh i love the seaweed line, and i wish i could love this product, but it was way too harsh on my skin. i have combination skin (oily t-zone, dry/normal cheeks) and everytime i would try this mask, it would just burn on my cheeks. i would wash it off and my cheeks would be left bright red and i would have to dab on moisturizer. i only use this mask on my t-zone now. i get hormonal acne and it works very well on my oily parts. Rated 5 out of 5 by glowing skin I used this for the first time last night and I am still blown away by the results. Once you apply a thin layer, the mask begins to dry within a few seconds. Some people complained about the smell, but I did not have any problems with it. After ten minutes, I washed my face with warm water to reveal super smooth, clean skin! I was amazed by the results that I made my mom do it too. She could not believe the results either. Needless to say, both of us are fans of this product now. I recommend using the seaweed facial wash, then the toner before the mask. After the mask, use the seaweed night treatment. June 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Blackheads are gone I picked up this mask with the rest of the Seaweed line because I have very oily skin and blackheads which have sat in the pores on the side of my nose for years. I started using this once a week and discovered that after 2 uses about 75% of my blackheads were either gone or easily extractable. It dries quickly, smells fine, and is easy to put on and remove, though I would not advise you remove it with a sponge. I will probably keep using this mask until they discontinue it. May 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Mask I have very sensitive and acne prone skin and this stuff is amazing. I use it 2-3 times a week and I also use the seaweed clarifying night treatment and my skin has been incredibly clear! (It's been years since I've had such clear skin!) I started using the aloe line but I realized it was a little too gentle on my skin and the tea tree line was way too harsh and drying to my skin but the seaweed line is amazing and definitely worth the money. The smell is refreshing as well. October 25, 2011

Or would the Aloe, Tea Tree, Blue Corn, Mineral Warming, or Oatmeal and Honey mask be a better choice for sensitive, but oily and blemished-prone skin?

    Answer:
I would recommend it. However, I found it could be drying if you leave it on too long or if you use it too often. I would limit usage to once or twice a week and follow with a good moisturizer.
The tea tree mask is wonderful too if you don't want to run the risk of drying out your skin :)

    Answer:
I have the same type of skin and find that this mask helps get rid of the blemishes I would have, helps with my scars, cleans out my pores and reduces my pore size. All without drying out my skin and making it flake. It is a nice mask for a great price, which is hard to find. I use it about once a month and also use the mineral warming and Drops of Youth mask as a treat.

    Answer:
I would personally recommend the aloe line for sensitive skin. Tea tree and seaweed is also fine. Just not blue corn--I feel like that one is a bit rough.

    Answer:
    Hi Anonymous,

thank you for your interest in The Body Shop's Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask. The Body Shop's Seaweed range is great for oily/combination skin; however, if your skin is highly sensitive, we would recommend The Body Shop's Aloe range. The Body Shop's Aloe range is made without alcohol and preservatives, so it offers great gentle care.

If you're looking for a blemish fighter, The Body Shop's Tea Tree line will help you remove impurities without drying out your skin, while also leaving your skin feeling very refreshed!

    Hope this helps!

    Answer:
I would try the Tea Tree one because I've heard that's very good. I'm not very sure about the rest though. Although, Aloe Vera is soothing to skin so I feel that makes logical sense to work pretty well.

    Answer:
Our Seaweed skin care collection targets combination skin types as it helps control sebum levels for balanced skin. The Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask is a deep cleansing mask treatment that draws out impurities from pores and removes excess oil. To use, apply a thin layer and leave for 10 minutes before rinsing off. We recommend using the mask twice on a weekly basis.

    Answer:
I would use this once every two weeks to once a week, depending on the sensitivity of your skin. Plus make sure you have a good moisturizer to use after this mask as well.

If you have combination skin, I HIGHLY reccommend the full seaweed line. It is awesome! And if you are acne prone, use tea tree cleansers with seaweed moisturizers.

I love this product! I hope you like it too!

    Answer:
I use my clay mask once a week but your use really depends on your skin type. For oily skin I would recommend twice a week at most. Too much use of clay masks can be over-drying. Since you say you have both dry and oily skin the mask would probably be useful to use once at the beginning of the week and once at the end. To avoid drying out afterward. I recommend washing your skin with lukewarm water to remove the clay mask and then applying the Aloe Protective Restoring Mask. I absolutely adore it! And it really helps balance out dryness with oiliness. You can even leave it on overnight and wash it off in the morning since the texture is more like a cream than a mask.

I usually wash my face and shower in the morning, but not always daily. Will it work best in the afternoon, evening, or on a morning with or without a face wash?

    Answer:
I typically use it once or twice a week. I still wash my face with a cleanser before putting it on because it recommends applying it on clean skin. I typically use it at night, I think that is when it works best because even if you put it on in the afternoon your skin dirty again not too soon after.

    Answer:
I like to use this product at night about once a week to once every two weeks. I use it when I come home from work as a way to wind down a little bit after a hectic day,

Cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser first, and then use this.

Make sure you use a good moisturizer afterwards.

Hope you like it! I love mine!!

    Answer:
I get my best mask results when using my facial cleanser while showering then applying a mask when I get out. The steam from a shower opens your pores so masks can really get in there.
