Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Scrub for Sensitive Skin I have VERY sensitive dry skin and purchased this scrub for the winter months. It has a light neutral fragrance that I find agreeable (can layer other fragrances over it without having a weird combo). I also have not had any type of reaction to this product. I would recommend that you put this on while in the shower or tub (I use it on my dry skin prior to showering) as the exfoliating particles will go everywhere while you massage it into your skin. It also does leave a slight oil film on your skin but that is easily removed with standard body wash. My skin feels baby soft after using this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super soft skin! I love this scrub! Its scent isn't too strong, but leaves skin with a scent of mild sweetness! It isn't like other scrubs where the exfoliants are too harsh on the skin—the sugar and salt grains + shea butter are a perfect mixture because they just melt on your skin but still exfoliate and leave you super smooth. It does leave a slight oily residue but it's more of a moisturizing effect than anything else. I have naturally tan skin so this scrub definitely brings out even more glow! The packaging is super cute as well! I will be making future purchases for sure!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as moisturizing as I had hoped.... Shea Body Scrub: I LOVE TBS products and especially the body scrubs....(I have tried Mango, Mojito Lime, Coconut and now the Shea scrub). My first body scrub purchase was the Mango and because I have Dry Skin it was absolutely Fantastic! Based on the reviews and verbiage that Shea Scrub was for 'very' dry skin, I thought this would work super great on my skin. I just bought a jar of this and tried it three times before reviewing. I LOVE the scent - but am disappointed in the moisturizing capabilities. In summer my skin is 'normal to dry' and in winter it is 'dry'. It is summertime as I type this review, and my skin is not nearly as dry as it gets in the winter. When I use the mango scrub I don't even need body butter after (although I use it any way to layer for scent! ) but with the Shea Scrub I absolutely have to put on body butter after as it does not moisturize enough. I am wondering if the product has gone through some changes??? As a matter of fact, the Mojito Lime scrub is way more moisturizing than the Shea, which is odd based on the verbiage for each product that TBS puts out. (Also, all of the Virgin Mojito line is amazing and you should try it!!) Although I LOVE the mango scrub, I am needing to find a body scrub with a SCENT that is more appropriate for the colder season, but that still moisturizes my skin as much as the Mango.....Unfortunately it is not going to be the Shea Body Scrub.......Still looking.

    • Cane Sugar

We source our Community Trade cane sugar from the Montillo Cooperative in Paraguay. The Montillo Cooperative was formed in 1995 by 37 small-scale farmers, in a region known as the world’s “Cradle of Organic Sugar”. They became Fair Trade-certified in 1998, and have now grown to 385 members. Our trade helps them gain technical assistance and better trading conditions for their produce, improving production, and access credit. Our Community Trade cane sugar from Paraguay moisturizes and softens skin.

    • Shea

Our Community Trade shea butter is hand-crafted in Ghana by the Tungteiya Shea Butter Association is made up of over 475 women in 11 villages around Tamale, northern Ghana. Each woman takes two days to carefully produce the 25kg of butter; the rich kernels of 28 shea nuts are packed into every ultra-moisturizing Shea Body Butter. Our trade partnership with the Tungteiya Association has provided them with income and money to fund water pipes, access medial care and better housing and education. They ultra-nourishing shea butter we receive from them makes up our highly-nourishing, best-selling Shea bath & body range.

    • Soya Oil

We source our Community Trade organic soya oil from Gebana Brazil. Gebana produces soya oil from GM-free, organically grown soya beans cultivated in the hinterlands of the Iguazu River. Gebana comprises around 350 families, mostly smallholder farmers. We have been working with them since 2006, because Gebana differs from much of the soya farming industry, which is one of the major contributors to deforestation in Brazil, by promoting sustainable farming methods and organic produce. Our Community Trade Soya oil products restores precious moisture to the skin and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth with no tightness.

  • about productShow

The Body Shop® difference: The organic sugar in our Shea Body Scrub is supplied by our Community Trade partner, Cooperative Montillo, in Paraguay, a country where 60% of the population lives in poverty. In the region where sugar is grown, there are few paved road roads, poor telecommunications and limited medical assistance. By having access to a stable, reliable market for their sugar cane, the farmers are helping to strengthen and develop the local economy and create vital employment. This means people can remain in the community, rather than having to move away to find work.
