Rated 5 out of 5 by Soooo Refreshing The Satsuma line is for sure on my favorite things list! I have been using the body wash for a year now and have had no issues with dry skin or breakouts (Note: I have not used on my face). I have bought a few different lotions and perfumes, but this is always my go-to scent. It is great for all year round, but especially fresh for summer!! Pair it with the body butter - the body lotions at TBS seem more 'sticky' to me. June 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Burst of Sunshine in your Shower I ordered the Jumbo size in this. I had only used the Satsuma shower scrub before and loved the smell, so I knew I'd love this too. It's nice as a daily body wash and it helps me wake up in the mornings, I like to use the Satsuma body oil as a moisturizer right out of the shower 2 or 3 days a week. Even though the fragrance is so nice it doesn't interfere with your favorite perfume. By the time your all dressed the fragrance has dissipated. I always do my perfume last thing after dressing. Rated 2 out of 5 by Sticky Product I was expecting it will leave my skin soft and clean, however after I used this shower gel, it turns out that this gel leaves my skin sticky. I do not feel like I am clean after I use Satsuma Shower Gel. Please TBS make shower gels not sticky!! October 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product This is one of my favourite scents! It smells exactly like oranges. It makes you smell great, doesn't dry out your skin and is a really nice lathering consistency! I don't know if I would recommend it to someone who is having skin troubles just because I'm not sure if it would help and etc. The scent is distinct but isn't too strong when you use it, which is really important to me, I would definitely buy this again! Q&A for Mega Satsuma Shower Gel
Just wondering what type of citrus is satsuma. I am not familiar with this fruit. Is it lemony or limey or orange or grapefruit? I'd love to know what the fruit looks like. Anxious to try it and inhale it's luscious scent.

    Answer:
A satsuma is a cousin of the orange. You've probably not heard of it because it is not native to the United States.

    Answer:
Satsuma Mandarin is a variety of orange. It is a citrus and easily peeled variety known specifically as: Unshu Mikan. It also goes by other names: The Christmas Orange, Satsuma Orange, The Satsuma Mandarin and is of Chinese origin. In China, it is known as Wenzhou migan. Certain species are referred to as Tangerine in the United States.

In my opinion: The scent is specifically a blend of Mandarin and Clementine. (I researched this information and what was revealed was that TBS uses the essential oils from a blend of Satsuma Mandarin Oranges.) The scent is similar, in my opinion, to a Tangerine or a Clementine. It is not "orangey," rather, it is more of a blend of luscious citrus (Mandarin Orange, Tangerine and Clementine.) I have used this particular product religiously since last year, and each time I go out I receive compliments on my "perfume," which is from my wearing the Satsuma TBS Body Butter and having bathed in the Satsuma Shower Gel. I actually reviewed the shower gel today which was when your question was presented to me to answer. You will find it's easy to use the Satsuma shower gel as shampoo as well as body wash and I have used the body butter lightly on my hair as a topical leave-in conditioner on my ends. The scent lasts and lasts. I hope this helps! My hair looks great and my ends are smooth after using (strange but it works.)

    • Honey

We source our Community Trade honey from the UNESCO Sheka Forest Biosphere Reserve in the southern region of Ethiopia, where African bees distil the nectar of rainforest flowers to create a distinctive floral honey. To collect this precious honey, we work with the ‘bee whisperers’ of Beza Mar, a group dedicated to improving the livelihood of Ethiopian beekeeping communities and maintaining their traditional, natural way of working with bees. • Soya Oil

We source our Community Trade organic soya oil from Gebana Brazil. Gebana produces soya oil from GM-free, organically grown soya beans cultivated in the hinterlands of the Iguazu River. Gebana comprises around 350 families, mostly smallholder farmers. We have been working with them since 2006, because Gebana differs from much of the soya farming industry, which is one of the major contributors to deforestation in Brazil, by promoting sustainable farming methods and organic produce. • about productShow

Our Community Trade organic soy oil is produced in Brazil, where industrial soy farming is driving the deforestation of the Amazon. Most of the deforestation is through burning and logging to create huge agribusiness soy farms. Because the Capanema Farmers practice sustainable farming methods without the use of chemicals, they are helping to preserve nature, as well as their traditional way of life. The Body Shop® uses about 150 tons of soy oil a year—none of which, we can happily say, contributes to the destruction of the Amazon rainforest.
