Rated 5 out of 5 by Quenching I wasnt quite sure I liked it at first but that was because I was so used to some kind of scented body butter but I applied it after a shower and my skin absorbed it. It goes on effortlessly and my skin felt amazing. I wanted to keep applying more. My son came home from college one weekend and he tried it, Im now missing a tub out of my stash. This is a big hit in my little family!!! May 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cant live without my Aloe body butter I have extremely dry skin and sensitive nose and i just love using my most favorite Aloe body butter. Little goes along and keeps skin hydrated and alive. Body shop thanks a ton for this body butter n never discontinue this, i have tried almost all body butters from TBS but this remains my all time favorite. January 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best lotion As an eczema sufferer, there are not many products I can use. This lotion is the only one (besides vitamin e) that does not irritate my skin. It's the only one (besides vitamin e) that I will use, knowing it will help and not aggravate my eczema. Eczema can be unbearable, but this lotion helps me to cope with it. October 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Summer-type body butter I was looking for not too heavy body butter that I can use between summer and fall, and this one feels just perfect! It has a light texture that hydrates the body enough but does not a leave slippery feeling. I also loved its metrosexual scent! I like using Olive series, and Aloe series is similar to them, only with lighter smell and texture. August 27, 2015

  • KEY INGREDIENTSShow

    • Aloe

Our Community Trade organic aloe Vera comes from the rich and bio-diverse south-east Mexico, on the Yucatán peninsula. We work with the Campeche Farmers, who cultivate aloe Vera plants on organically-certified land, close to three precious rainforest biosphere reserves. They supply The Body Shop with 100% organic, preservative-free concentrated aloe Vera gel for our Aloe skincare range. The Body Shop's Aloe range helps to minimize the signs of sensitivity to soothe signs of irritation and with regular use will help build the skin's natural defense against skin aggressors.

    • Babassu

Community Trade Babassu oil is extracted from the nuts of the wild babassu palm tree, found on the fringes of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. Our babassu oil supplier, The Cooperative of Agricultural Producers of Lago de Junco (COPPALJ) is based in the north-eastern state of Maranhão in Brazil. It comprises over 150 members from 12 communities. The babassu palm tree has become an important subsistence resource in Maranhão, where over 300,000 families harvest babassu oil and are often dependent upon this activity for their economic survival. COPPALJ provides a fair wage, and also helps to lobby on behalf of babassu-harvesting communities to help them protect the forest and their livelihood. Babassu Oil helps to soften skin, preventing moisture loss and dry skin.

    • Brazil Nut

Sourced from Peru, our Community Trade Brazil nut oil is cold-pressed from wild harvested Brazil nuts from Madre de Dios rainforest. We work with the 'castañeros', or nut-collectors of Candela, a non-profit trade organization. Candela offers local communities a stable income, empowering them to improve living standards and conserve the biodiversity of the region. We provide Candela with employment opportunities through our trade partnership by sourcing our skin-smoothing, nourishing Brazil nut oil with them for our bath & body products.

    • Cocoa

Our Community Trade cocoa butter is sourced from the Kuapa Kokoo Farmer's Union in Ghana. Now one of the largest Trade co-operatives in the world, Kuapa Kokoo has grown from a few hundred small-scale farmers to over 50,000. The cocoa butter we receive from the Farmer's Union helps make up the luxurious, moisturizing, nourishing bath & body products we offer, and gives back to the Union by providing a steady income so that they can improve their living standards and invest for the future.

    • Shea

Our Community Trade shea butter is hand-crafted in Ghana by the Tungteiya Shea Butter Association is made up of over 475 women in 11 villages around Tamale, northern Ghana. Each woman takes two days to carefully produce the 25kg of butter; the rich kernels of 28 shea nuts are packed into every ultra-moisturizing Shea Body Butter. Our trade partnership with the Tungteiya Association has provided them with income and money to fund water pipes, access medial care and better housing and education. They ultra-nourishing shea butter we receive from them makes up our highly-nourishing, best-selling Shea bath & body range.

    • Soya Oil

We source our Community Trade organic soya oil from Gebana Brazil. Gebana produces soya oil from GM-free, organically grown soya beans cultivated in the hinterlands of the Iguazu River. Gebana comprises around 350 families, mostly smallholder farmers. We have been working with them since 2006, because Gebana differs from much of the soya farming industry, which is one of the major contributors to deforestation in Brazil, by promoting sustainable farming methods and organic produce. Our Community Trade Soya oil products restores precious moisture to the skin and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth with no tightness.
