Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT This is the best shave cream I have even found. I have been using it for about 6 years and whenever I try to try something else I just can't because I don't get the same results that I am getting with the Maca root shave cream. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than other shaving cream like Gillette I used this product for the first time and it's pretty amazing! It is not even comparable to Gillette or Dove. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Shaving Cream I have used this product for about 4 years and will probably never go back. It's one of the only hygiene items I will go out of my way to purchase. Sometimes shaving with the blue goop (as I now call it) can be like mowing lawn with 6 inches of snow on top of it. This is a totally new shaving experience if you have never used anything else. When you lather a little bit up with a splash of water and apply with a brush, you will get a very thin layer of shaving cream on your face. You will also probably feel like it seems too "diluted" to protect yourself from the raw blades. However, what's cool about this product is that it has a little bit of an oily texture. The blades slide right across your face, and it leaves a little residue - because it's so thin - that helps moisturize. Shaving with "normal" shaving cream bogs the razor down and doesn't allow as close a shave as possible. It's a little funny to make the transition at first, but it really is a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful My hubby has skin that dries out easily when he shaves, particularly in the winter, so he has a hard time with shaving creams, even those that are specifically for sensitive skin. I decided to get this for him because of all the wonderful favorable reviews and they weren't wrong! This stuff smells great and moisturizes really well without feeling greasy so there is no skin irritation. It's a little pricier than what you can buy at the grocery store but a tub lasts a long long time. Add that to all the other benefits and it's well worth the cost. This is the only shaving cream we purchase anymore and we're so pleased with it we've given it to his buddies to try as well!

  • KEY INGREDIENTSShow

    • Aloe

Our Community Trade organic aloe Vera comes from the rich and bio-diverse south-east Mexico, on the Yucatán peninsula. We work with the Campeche Farmers, who cultivate aloe Vera plants on organically-certified land, close to three precious rainforest biosphere reserves. They supply The Body Shop with 100% organic, preservative-free concentrated aloe Vera gel for our Aloe skincare range. The Body Shop's Aloe range helps to minimize the signs of sensitivity to soothe signs of irritation and with regular use will help build the skin's natural defense against skin aggressors.

    • Brazil Nut

Sourced from Peru, our Community Trade Brazil nut oil is cold-pressed from wild harvested Brazil nuts from Madre de Dios rainforest. We work with the 'castañeros', or nut-collectors of Candela, a non-profit trade organization. Candela offers local communities a stable income, empowering them to improve living standards and conserve the biodiversity of the region. We provide Candela with employment opportunities through our trade partnership by sourcing our skin-smoothing, nourishing Brazil nut oil with them for our bath & body products.

    • Sesame Oil

We source our Community Trade sesame seed oil from Nicaragua where it has been treasured as a beauty secret by the women of ancient Babylon. We have partnered with Nicaraguan farmers to produce our sesame seed oil, as it is a very labor intensive job and can only be harvested and picked by hand. Through trade with The Body Shop, the JFPS (Juan Francisco Paz Silva) co-operatives have been able to establish and strengthen their global sesame seed export business. Many of our iconic bath & body products include the sesame oil they provide us to moisturize and soften skin.

The Body Shop difference: Touted as the “super food of the Andes,” the maca root, dense with essential vitamins, minerals and fatty acids, was first used by the Inca more than 2,000 years ago for energy and endurance. During the height of the Incan empire, legend has it that Incan warriors would consume maca before entering battle to make them fiercely strong.
