The Body Shop® difference: Through its charitable foundation, the Teddy Trust, our Community Trade partner, Teddy Exports, began a pioneering HIV/AIDS awareness project in 1995, which has attracted international recognition. Because HIV is commonly spread by long-distance truck drivers, the Teddy Trust set up two Healthy Highway Centers at truck-stops on southern India’s main highway. The centers give out free condoms, information and advice. The program also uses street theater, puppet shows and even elephants to attract attention to the problem and educate the local adults and children.
