Passion fruit seed oil moisturizes skin.
Community Trade melon seed oil from Namibia conditions skin.
Community Trade organic beeswax hydrates and conditions skin, acting as a barrier to seal in moisture.

The Body Shop® difference: Our melon seed oil is sourced from our Community Trade partner, the Eudafano Women’s Cooperative, in Namibia. Some 5,000 women from 12 rural communities receive a fair price for the oil, which means they can pay medical bills and send their children to school. The business is owned and run by women who are directly involved in collecting and processing the oil. This is quite unusual in Namibia, where men are historically the wage earners. Now the women have an income that they control!

Organic beeswax

Moisturizes and helps to condition dry skin, especially on your lips and around the fingernail beds. Acts as a barrier that helps to seal in moisture. Helps to keep product texture consistent when used over time. Plays a part in protecting and preserving the forest as well as providing necessary income for the beekeepers, an increasing number of which are now women.

Passion Fruit

Passion fruit is native to Southern Brazil. It's a small, round, dark purple fruit with as many as 250 seeds inside. That's where the magic lies; the seeds are pressed to produce incredibly moisturizing and fragrant oil.

Shea butter is one of nature's great moisturizers. Ghanaian women have used it for centuries to protect their skin from the dry Saharan winds. So who better to buy ours from than the Tungteiya Shea Butter Association, Northern Ghana. An association of around 400 women from 10 villages, we ensure a fair price for their product. Since trading with The Body Shop the women have been able to dramatically change their lives with water pipes and wells saving hours of water collecting, better housing, medical care, food, and self esteem. Importantly, they are also able to give their children, particularly their daughters, the chance to go to school.
