The Body Shop® difference: Our Community Trade shea butter is produced by the 11 village groups who form the Tungteiya Shea Butter Association in northern Ghana. The women were all given grinding mills and nut cracking plants, donated by Dame Anita Roddick and The Body Shop Foundation, to help with the extraction of shea butter. The equipment reduces a backbreaking task to an extremely tiring one. (And you thought you had a hard job!) It also allows the women and their communities to process grains into flour. As a result of this strenuous work, the women now have a reliable source of income and a greater voice in village affairs.
Shea butter

Cocoa butter
Is an excellent moisturizer that melts at body temperature, leaving the skin feeling soft and silky smooth. Enables the development of community projects such as schools and village wells, in addition to providing small-scale farmers with income to support their families.
