Product description

Best if you want to: Indulge your skin and senses in a moisture-rich, ultra-creamy body wash that creates a decadent chocolate-scented lather.

Best for: very dry skin

How it works:
  • A cleansing ingredient made from Community Trade cocoa butter acts as a detergent that creates foaming, cleansing bubbles.
  • Community Trade organic soy oil is very rich in essential fatty acids that help to restore skin’s natural moisture barrier, so skin is softer and smoother.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Unbelievable Results I have tried/used more shower gels/soap/creams than I can count. I have dry, itchy skin year round. The inside of black slacks always looked as if I had shaken powder in them...until now. I am blown away by this product. I started using it in September and my skin became smooth and supple. But the real test was our Michigan Winter. The only flakes were outside (aka snow)...My skin is fantastic ...and my slacks are black. I was not embarrassed by flaking legs when we vacationed in the Caribbean in March. If you have very dry skin/legs...you need to try this. I love the cocoa butter aroma and its effects on my sensitive skin. I just purchased 2 bottles for peace of mind! April 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Softness Makes my skin feel really soft after use. January 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for dry skin, wish it had more lather I use the Cocoa Butter Creamy Body Wash to keep my skin moisturized during the winter, and it does a great job of making dry skin feel soft, supple, and smooth. (I recommend following up with the Cocoa Butter Body Butter after the shower for full effect!) It smells just okay. I wish it smelled more like the body butter and lip care stick, but I don't use this for the scent. My only major complaint is the lack of lather; if you use it with a loofah, it essentially gets sucked up by the loofah. But, otherwise, it's a great product and does a great job of moisturizing. Rated 1 out of 5 by The Scent is HORRIBLE! I've never had a shower gel I didn't like, but this is just gross. The scent of this smells like chemicals. NOTHING like anything I would ever want to wash with! It lathers okay and makes your skin really soft, but I just can't get past the smell. Unless you want to smell like chemicals or a diaper, I wouldn't recommend this. Try another creamy body wash in a different scent because the formula is nice. December 6, 2012

    • Cocoa Butter

We source our Community Fair Trade cocoa beans from the Kuapa Kokoo Farmer’s Union in Ghana. Now the largest Fair Trade co-operative in the world, Kuapa Kokoo has been trading with The Body Shop since its formative years, growing from a few hundred members to representing 78,000 smallholder cocoa farmers! We receive high quality cocoa from the Farmer’s Union which helps us make luxurious cocoa butter for our products; in return, our trade helps provide a steady, fair wage for the members of Kuapa Kokoo, so that they can improve their living standards and invest for the future. • Soya Oil

We source our Community Fair Trade organic soya oil from Gebana Brazil. Gebana produces soya oil from GM-free, organically grown soya beans cultivated in the hinterlands of the Iguazu River. Gebana comprises around 350 families, mostly smallholder farmers. We have been working with them since 2006, because Gebana differs from much of the soya farming industry, which is one of the major contributors to deforestation in Brazil, by promoting sustainable farming methods and organic produce. • about productShow

The Body Shop® difference: Our cocoa butter is made from cocoa beans that we buy from our Community Trade partner, Kuapa Koo Ltd. in Ghana. The cocoa pods, which resemble a half-sized football, grow straight out of the trunk and thicker branches of the cocoa tree. The pods are cut by hand from the tree using a long-handled knife, and the beans are scooped out and fermented. After being dried in the sun, the finest beans are sent to Holland, where they are grinded and pressed into the cocoa butter that we use in our products.
