Rated 3 out of 5 by blt32407 Lackluster moisturizing, great fragrance
Love the fragrance of the absinthe line but unfortunately, this hand cream is just too runny to do much good on my aging hands. I go through a lot of hand cream and this one just didn't last long and I always ended up using more than I wanted to because of its thin consistency. Would love to see the absinthe fragrance introduced into something as emollient as the hemp hand cream. For now, I'll stick to the hemp and hope for improvement in texture of this one.

This smells great as all the Body Shop products do, but is not moisturizing. I will stick to the hemp line which works much better.

The good news: I purchased the smaller version of these and got them much cheaper with a promotional discount. My friends loved them.
The bad news: I bought them for myself ... ! And, because I could not handle the scent, did not benefit from the purchase. So, it was not money well spent, in the end.
I usually buy lotion from the Hemp line because my skin is dry and the line WORKS for me. I was willing to try something new, based on the description of the product, and the fact that I like Body Shop products. But, I could not get past the scent--it is too much. Also, unlike the Hemp Hand Creme Protector (in the tube), which is creamy and absorbs well into my skin, the Absinthe is "thinner," for lack of a better word, and did not absorb as quickly. It's not sticky but it felt like that way.
Having said that, you may LOVE this product. I would never buy it as a gift unless I already knew the person would enjoy it. I, literally, used it one time; so I intentionally only gave an "overall" rating. It did not seem valid to comment on the other areas ... I recommend trying this product line in-store before you purchase.

When my Body Shop package arrived and I opened it to find the absinth hand cream inside I noticed the tube was not full like the Almond one. It look squeezed per se. I had 2 coworkers talking to me when I opened it and they even commented on the packaging and how it looked used.
When I first used the absinth hand cream a watery substance squirt out and the handcream wasn't really a cream. Even when put on your hand it slid around like a piece of ice on the ground leaving a water trail. I put the lid on and the cream slid off my hand onto my desk but after reading the review below I guess the consistency issue I found wasn't just limited to mine.
The smell is ok but yes it is definitely overwhelming. After the product was rubbed in I noticed my skin was still dry. I wasn't happy with this product at all and wish a store was more convenient to return the product.
If you are just wanting a perfume cream then this would be for you.
